Whether you are new to the cleaning industry, or an established cleaning company, it’s always best to stay ahead of the curve. The cleaning industry has become extremely competitive over the years, as more homeowners and business owners turn to outside companies to maintain their spaces. We’ve compiled a list of 6 ways to lead your cleaning business to success:

  1. Keep Yourself Informed. When it comes to the cleaning industry you have to keep yourself informed. With today’s technology advancements, the cleaning equipment and chemical supplies you use can change without warning. The good news is, most of the changes that are made to the cleaning industry will make your company more efficient.
  2. Clean Each Location as if it were your own. Whether it’s your crews very first visit to this location, or their tenth it’s important that each time they clean, they do so as if it were their own house. In most cases, the first visit determines whether or not the customer will have your company continue to clean their location. Imagine your company is making its first impression each time they arrive and leave all locations.
  3. Be Mindful. When your crew is cleaning a location, it’s imperative that they take their time. When rushing through a job, either they can become careless, or in some cases, things can be broken. Most customers understand that accidents may happen, but sometimes the cost to repair or replace something is much more than the time it would have taken them to just take their time.
  4. Keep your Employees Happy. Your employees are an integral part of the success of your company. The quality and efficiency of their performance is what determines whether or not your customers will be satisfied with your company. So be sure to train them thoroughly, treat them with respect, and always remain approachable even in the worst situations.
  5. Find the Perfect Niche & Stick with it. When it comes to business you never want to spread yourself too thin. In order to keep your company efficient, and profitable – you want to know your target audience, and stick with it. More so, if you want to specialize in cleaning residential, business, or large warehouse facilities, choose one that fits your company best. You want to be great in one industry, rather than ‘mediocre’ in a few.
  6. Invest in Good Customer Service. It’s important that you have dedicated customer service reps, or office staff to deal with different situations. In the cleaning industry this can range from any type of scheduling conflict, to an extremely unhappy customer. You want trained professionals to be able to diffuse the situation quickly and efficiently, and find a resolution that suits both your business, and the customer.
